Integration of Technology in the Classroom
Technology is here to stay and it has found it’s way into the schools. If used properly, it can be a great tool for the students. As a teacher, I can see the benefits of the integration of computers in the classroom. I think computers can be beneficial if utilized correctly. The computer can be beneficial by allowing the students to use it as a tool to open doors to so much more information.
There is a balance between utilizing the computers to provide efficient lessons and avoiding wasting time, going off track, and losing sight of the objectives. If there is a misuse of computers, it can be treated as any other behavior that is distracting to the class. It is crucial that the students stay focused on what they should be learning. It is all about balance.
As a teacher, it is important to stay current on the research in this area of classroom management because technology is going to become more popular, more accessible, more complex, and ever-changing in the future. Computers and other technology are not going to go away and will become more prevalent in years to come.
